Role Overview
The Senior Market Linkage Specialist will connect farmers and agribusinesses to profitable markets. You will analyse market trends, forge commercial relationships and facilitate contracts that deliver sustainable growth for smallholder producers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market assessments and develop strategies that expand market access for farmers.
- Facilitate partnerships between producer groups, traders and institutional buyers.
- Provide training and mentorship on quality standards, market requirements and negotiation skills.
- Lead contract negotiation and ensure fair terms for all parties.
- Monitor and evaluate linkage initiatives, integrating gender and social inclusion.
- Capture and share lessons learned through reporting and knowledge‑management activities.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in agribusiness, economics, business administration, horticulture or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in market systems development or value‑chain facilitation.
- Comprehensive understanding of market development approaches and business linkages.
- Fluency in English and Amharic, with strong networking and negotiation skills.
- Ability to conduct market assessments and design interventions based on evidence.
- Experience managing multi‑stakeholder projects and budgets.
